Pin CushionsChina Tea Cup Pincushions and Tea Bag Needle Book
Victorian Pin KeeperI was inspired to create a Victorian Pin Keeper while looking through a book on vintage sewing supplies and notions. The design was so pretty and simple, yet showcased fabrics and embroidery beautifully. The pattern and kits are available through my Etsy shop at www.ericadaley.etsy.com.
Cupcake Pin CushionHere are some cute little pin cushions made from ordinary cupcake papers, a variety of materials for the top including, flannel, cotton, a sweater, yarn, and fur, plus a few plastic beads to give the bottom some weight. I added a few buttons and some felt leaves to add a finishing touch.
Here's one with a yarn top to look like
real frosting! Would you like a Cupcake Pin Cushion? You can download the free PDF file for instructions on how to make them by clicking here. Cupcake Pin Cushions / Copyright 2007 Erica Daley Cat Pin CushionHere is a cat pin cushion. The cat is not attached to the 'fish pond' at all, and just leans against the side hoping a small fish might come her way.
Teacup Pin CushionHere's a little pincushion I made from a teacup and saucer that I glued together. They make nice pincushions because the saucer will hold thread and scissors for you.
Copyright 2007 Erica Daley I recently received an email asking where I got the pins in the pin cushions. I purchased almost all of them at JoAnn Fabrics, and I made the ones with glass beads on them (mini teacup). My favorite pins to use for sewing projects are Clover or Iris, and my favorite needles to use for hand sewing are Foxglove Cottage, Straw Needles. Clover, Iris, and Foxglove Cottage all have very fine points and are so nice to use. |
